Taiwan watchdog calls online-casino controls ineffective

Taiwan's Control Yuan — the independent constitutional body that investigates failures in government administration — says the country's existing laws and enforcement system are not effectively stopping the growth and promotion of illegal online casinos. Its investigation also found that these platforms are increasingly connected to telecommunications fraud.

The watchdog called on the Ministry of Digital Affairs and the Executive Yuan, Taiwan's cabinet, to improve prevention and coordination between agencies. This is an official criticism of the government's control system, not an allegation against a specific gambling operator.
