INDEPENDENT GAMBLING INDUSTRY INTELLIGENCE

An intelligence system, not just a news feed.

East Asia Reports tracks the companies, regulation, enforcement and market shifts shaping gambling across East Asia—then connects each report to a growing, multilingual research archive.

01 / EAST ASIA REPORTS

Built to make a fragmented region legible.

Critical information is scattered across regulators, company disclosures, procurement records, court documents, local media and several languages. EAR brings those fragments into one editorial and research system.

We cover Japan, South Korea, China, Macau, Taiwan and Hong Kong, with global reporting where it materially affects the region. The focus is not volume for its own sake, but useful context, traceable evidence and continuity over time.

02 / WORKFLOW

From source to signal

Automation expands coverage. Editorial judgement decides what matters.

01

Continuous scans

Automated workflows monitor official, regulatory, corporate and specialist sources across markets and languages.

02

Structured capture

Relevant findings become entities, observations, events and evidence links inside the EAR database—not loose bookmarks.

03

Verification and context

Sources are compared, uncertainty is recorded and developments are connected to companies, rules and earlier events.

04

Publication

One focused daily report leads the newsletter; Fast News adds short, source-linked updates that are clearly labelled as AI-generated and not human-reviewed.

03 / PUBLISHING

Two publishing speeds. One evidence base.

The website separates depth from immediacy without mixing their standards.

01

EAR Reports

Researched, contextual reporting selected for editorial relevance and reviewed before publication.

02

Fast News

Concise AI-generated updates, normally two paragraphs, with visible source links and an explicit no-human-review label.

03

Newsletter + archive

One focused report reaches readers each day while market and topic archives preserve the wider record.

04 / METHODOLOGY

What the database also records

The system keeps 461 items in a review queue and identifies 392 information gaps. Intelligence is not only what we publish, but what remains uncertain, incomplete or in need of checking.

Primary and local-language sources are preferred wherever possible. Confirmed facts, company claims, estimates and interpretation are kept distinct, and material evidence stays visible to the reader.

05 / LANGUAGES

One newsroom. Five editions.

English is the editorial source version. Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese editions preserve the same facts, structure, links and market taxonomy.

Translations are adapted for names, gambling terminology and local readability rather than treated as word-for-word conversion.
