JRA opens 2027 livestock-promotion grant call

The Japan Racing Association (JRA), Japan's national horse-racing operator, opened applications for its 2027 livestock-promotion grants. The programme uses part of JRA's profits to support private projects in areas including animal-disease prevention, breeding, and production and distribution technology; applications run from 1 October to noon on 2 November, with account registration due by 14 October.

The call shows how money generated by regulated racing is channelled into agricultural research and infrastructure outside the wagering sector. Selection is scheduled for March 2027, and implementation remains subject to the agriculture minister approving JRA's 2027 budget.
