Sands China adopts alternative public-float threshold after LVS purchase
Sands China said a wholly owned vehicle of Las Vegas Sands (LVS), its controlling shareholder, bought 1,623,200 shares on 1 September. LVS's holding rose to 75.01%, leaving 24.99% of Sands China shares in public hands.
The public float fell below the usual 25% threshold, but its market value remained above HK$1 billion, allowing the company to rely on Hong Kong's alternative listing threshold. Sands China said the change gives it greater flexibility for future capital-management transactions.
