Ka Ying Rising reaches record 135 sprinter rating

The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), the city’s licensed horse-racing and betting operator, said Ka Ying Rising reached 135 in the latest Longines World’s Best Racehorse Rankings after his 6 September win at Sha Tin. The new mark is four points above second-placed Inspector and, according to HKJC, makes Ka Ying Rising the highest-rated sprinter in the ranking’s history.

The rating provides a new international benchmark for Hong Kong racing ahead of the horse’s planned defence of The Everest at Sydney’s Randwick Racecourse on 17 October. It extends the significance of the earlier 21st consecutive win beyond a domestic race result, but does not predict the outcome of the Australian contest.
